Terms of service

The service

RamenID checks that a person controls an email address at a recognised educational institution. If the merchant has set it up, it then creates a single-use discount code in the merchant's Stripe, Polar or Dodo Payments account. RamenID does not sell the merchant's product or process their payments.

A successful verification means the person could receive email at that school domain. It does not guarantee that they are currently enrolled. Our list of institutions is based on public data and may contain mistakes.

Accounts

You need an account to offer discounts. Give accurate information, keep your sign-in and API keys secure, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has access. You are responsible for activity on your account, including every request made with your API keys.

Plans and billing

• Free: 50 verifications and 5 discount codes a month.
• Pro: $20 a month for 1,000 verifications and 100 discount codes in each billing period.

Each verification code we send counts as one verification, whether the student came from a hosted page or the API, including resends and attempts the student does not finish. When you reach the verification limit, new verifications pause. When you reach the discount limit, pages that give a discount stop accepting new verifications too. Both resume when your next period starts. Unused allowance does not roll over.

Pro is billed in advance through Stripe and renews each month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the billing page, and your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Fees are not refundable except where the law requires. Prices do not include taxes, which may be added at checkout. We will tell you by email at least 30 days before a price change affects you.

Your responsibilities as a merchant

• You decide which products get a discount, how large it is and how long it lasts, and you are responsible for every coupon RamenID creates at your instruction.
• You keep the payment provider accounts you connect in good standing, and give RamenID only the access it needs.
• You tell students how you use their data, in your own privacy policy, and you use it lawfully.
• You are responsible for the redirect URL and webhook endpoint you configure, and for how your systems handle what we send.
• You have the right to use the name, logo and description you show on your verification page.

Students

Verify only with an email address that belongs to you. Discount codes are single use and expire after seven days. Verifying again while your code is still valid returns that same code. Sharing or reselling codes is not allowed, and the merchant may cancel them. Questions about the product or its price should go to the merchant.

Acceptable use

Do not use RamenID to:

• verify email addresses you do not control, or other people without their knowledge;
• get around rate limits, plan limits or once-per-person rules;
• probe, overload or disrupt the service, or try to access data that is not yours;
• copy, resell or reverse engineer the service, except where the law allows; or
• break the law or the terms of a connected payment provider.

Your content

You keep ownership of the logo, name and description you upload. You let us host and display them on your verification pages and in your dashboard, only for running the service.

Third-party services

RamenID works with services we do not control, including Stripe, Polar, Dodo Payments and Google. Their own terms apply to your use of them. We are not responsible for their outages, changes, or how they handle the discounts created in your account.

Availability and changes

We work to keep RamenID available but do not promise uninterrupted service. We may change or remove features. If a change materially reduces what a paid plan includes, we will tell you in advance.

Suspension and termination

You can stop using RamenID at any time, and cancel any paid plan from the billing page. To delete your account and its data, email us at contact@workview.io. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts the service or other users at risk, or has unpaid fees. Where reasonable, we will warn you first. When an account is closed, its hosted pages and API keys stop working.

Disclaimers

RamenID is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, Workview LLC disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Workview LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to RamenID is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$100.

Indemnity

If you are a merchant, you will defend and indemnify Workview LLC against claims arising from your discounts, your products, your use of student data, or your breach of these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will update the date above and email merchants at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use RamenID after that means you accept the new terms.
